Restylane
Restylane are both natural treatments
that can achieve long lasting results without
resorting to invasive surgery.
Consisting of non-animal,
stabilised Hyaluronic Acid, (which occurs naturally in
the body) both Restylane works by replenishing
the body's own supply of hyaluronic acid which
is lost due to the ageing process. This causes
the skin to become dryer and thinner resulting
in the appearance of facial lines.
Once
injected into the skin Restylane will lift,
'plump-out' and add volume to the areas being treated.
Each treatment takes approximately 30 minutes
and because both products are natural, no pre-testing
is required. Results are immediate and the effects
can last up to 9 months.
How does a
Restylane treatment work?
During treatment, small amounts of Restylane are
injected just under the skin's surface using an ultra-fine
needle. The gel particles create natural volume to the
area, smoothing facial lines and wrinkles instantly creating
a more youthful appearance.
How is a Restylane lip treatment done?
Small amounts of the crystal clear gel are injected
along the lip line to emphasise the contour of the lip.
For lip volume which creates a fuller more sensuous look
a series of tiny injections are made directly into the
flesh of the upper and/or lower lip.
How often will I need a Restylane treatment?
This can vary from patient to patient and is
dependent on many factors such as skin type, age, and
the level of correction required. A personal treatment
plan can be advised but normally patients choose to have
the treatment a least twice per year to maintain a good
result.
Is Restylane painful?
A slight pricking sensation is felt when Restylane
is injected. For the more sensitive patient a local anaesthetic
cream or dental block is applied approximately 30 minutes
before the treatment is administered.
Are there any side
effects to a Restylane treatment?
Side effects are very rare. Slight redness, swelling
or tenderness may occur but will generally disappear
within a few days.
